After a crazy year of illnesses and being kicked out of our rental it seems there is finally some light at the end of the tunnel. I feel extremely lucky to announce that the hubs and I are buying our first house! Not only is it our first house, but it’s totally our dream house. The house is a 1960s Mid Century Eichler-style ranch house, one level and open floorplan with a pretty rockin office area where I can set up shop. It’s on a quiet street in the burbs right outside of Portland with some of the best neighbors I’ve ever met.

A big thanks to all of my Etsy customers for the support. I’m being serious when I say I actually couldn’t have done this without you. It’s because of all you guys that I was able to save up enough to buy a home in the first place.

Here’s a sneak peek at my new office setup. Right in front of a wall of windows looking out on some 100 year old trees. Talk about inspiration! And check out my mid century POST brand drafting table from the 1960s. Feels right at home already.

It was hard to make the decision to leave my hometown of LA and make the journey to a place with weather and seasons! But I can’t think of a more amazing way to say goodbye to my home state than with a big ol’ roadtrip from LA to Portland via PCH. It was one of the most beautiful drives and it honestly rocked my world. I was a bit hesitant of the amount of time it would take at first but that drive/scenery is a life-changer! I know it’s cliche… If you ever get the chance to drive up the California coast, do it!

I know it’s pretty crazy, I feel like I have been picking up shop and moving every few months. Actually, I think it has been once a year for the past few years. But after a trip to Portland I think I’ve finally found my home city. It’s such a beautiful place and overflowing with creativity.

We found this great house to rent with plenty of workspace, so stay tuned for some productivity! It even has a basement prime for splash dyeing and getting messy. Love you all and thanks for sticking with me and giving me your continued support. I’m so lucky to have such loyal customers!

I don’t know why I didn’t get around to it sooner. I’m always being asked by customers how to measure for the best fit so they don’t have to exchange items. I put all the measurements in my listings, but it’s hard to figure out what to do with them. So, what I did was make up a chart and set it up in the last image spot in my listings! This is the way I always used to check fit and size when I was buying vintage clothing online.

Here’s what you do:
1) Take the measurements provided to you in the listing, they are usually of the garment lying flat. Measurements can be doubled if you want the full around measurements.
2) Grab a similar garment at home you like the fit of. Lay it on the ground and measure. If the measurements in the listing are the same or similar/close enough then you know it will fit!

Hi everyone. Sorry I’ve been so lax in posting lately. There’s actually been a lot going on but I haven’t had time to post, including my move into some new digs. Due to the rapid number of expanding orders lately my husband and I made the move into a loft in San Pedro so we could have more of a live/work space. It’s been a bit tumultuous but is a great working space for us so far. Stay tuned for pics. It’s a huge mess right now and we need to clean up!

As my 2013 New Year’s resolution, I’m going to make much more of an effort this year to keep up on posting. Thanks for your continued support and Happy 2013!

It’s that time of season again! I was discussing with my husband how you can’t help but like holiday decorations. I’m not necessarily talking about your neighbor’s tacky lawn necessarily but the season encourages decorating on a commercial level, like garland on street lights and lights around palms (hey, I am in LA). Maybe the distinction is more evident now because we just moved to a more rundown neighborhood but the decorations outside made everything look better or at least cheerier to me.

I got a bit inspired this year because of our new bright loft space and taped some old crocheted doilies to one of our windows as snowflakes. I think it came out nice but luckily you don’t have to do much to this space to make it look good! Check out my favorite little holiday gnome “Åsas Tomtebod” sitting on my husband’s piano, isn’t he awesome?
